Hollie Velten is the founder and principal designer of SPACES by Hollie Velten, a full-service interior design firm focused on creating personal, meaningful connections between people and their homes. Based on a philosophy that blends the past, present, and future, Hollie works with clients—many of whom are transitioning from city life to suburban homes—to reimagine older spaces into places that feel both comforting and inspiring. Her designs are highly customized and expressive, balancing genres, eras, and textures to create a conversation of contrasts. With a BFA in Dance from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Hollie draws on her background in postmodern choreography and creative processes to shape her design approach. She and her team prioritize making over buying, using nostalgia, sensory prompts, and a home’s history to create spaces that feel deeply personal and unique. Absolutely. Whether you're seeking fast-acting advice or diving into a full transformation, our community of designers is flexible when it comes to project size and scope. No question is too small, and no vision is too grand.
How can I prep for my consultation call?
Gather your design ideas and all forms of inspiration (think: sketches, photos, color swatches and images from your chosen designer’s portfolio). The more prepared you are for your consultation, the more personalized and productive your consultation call will be. You are welcome to have family members and architects present to optimize your time.
How long are the consultation calls?
You have two options — 30 minutes and 60 minutes. The half-hour call is great for quick questions and decision making, like choosing paint colors or reviewing some of your selections before pulling the trigger. You're in control. Submit a full-service inquiry for a traditional interior design experience where you have a professional taking a hands-on approach from start to finish.
