Cookie Policy
TALD is a curated marketplace connecting homeowners with trusted interior designers, architects, builders, and landscape designers. To run that marketplace well — keeping your account secure, processing payments, and understanding how the site is used so we can make it better — we rely on cookies and similar technologies. This policy explains what those technologies are, exactly which ones we use, what each one does, and how you stay in control of them.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies let a site remember your actions and preferences — such as staying signed in — over time. We also use related technologies that serve similar purposes, and we refer to all of them as “cookies” in this policy:
- Cookies — small files stored by your browser.
- Pixels and tags — tiny snippets of code (for example, a Meta pixel loaded through Google Tag Manager) that record actions such as viewing a page or completing a form.
- Local storage and SDKs — data stored by your browser or by embedded services (such as Stripe or reCAPTCHA) to make a feature work.
Cookies may be first-party (set by TALD) or third-party (set by a provider we use, such as Google or Meta). They may also be session cookies, which expire when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which remain until they expire or you delete them.
2. How we use cookies
We use cookies for a defined set of purposes, and nothing more:
- To operate the platform — sign you in, keep your session active, remember your place, and route you through checkout.
- To keep the platform secure — protect against fraud, bots, and cross-site attacks, and process payments safely.
- To keep the platform working — detect errors and monitor performance so problems can be found and fixed.
- To understand and improve the experience — measure, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can make it clearer and more useful.
- To measure our marketing — understand which campaigns bring people to TALD and reach relevant audiences.
3. Categories of cookies we use
We group cookies into four categories. The first two are always active because the site cannot function safely without them. The last two run only when you allow them.
Strictly necessary
Required for the site to work. They keep you signed in, protect against fraud and abuse, and process payments. Because the service cannot be delivered without them, they cannot be switched off through our consent controls.
Functional
Support core operations of the service — sending account and transactional messages, running on-site forms, and capturing errors and diagnostics that keep the site reliable. On TALD these run alongside the strictly necessary cookies.
Analytics and performance
Help us understand how visitors find and use TALD, in aggregate, so we can improve it. These load only if you accept them. If you reject or turn analytics off, they do not run.
Advertising
Measure the performance of our marketing and help us reach relevant audiences on platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram). These load only if you accept them.
4. The cookies and services we use
The table below lists every service that may set cookies or similar technologies on TALD, what each one does, and whether it runs when you “Accept all” versus when you reject or turn analytics off.

Cookie names and lifespans set by third parties (Google, Meta, Stripe, Klaviyo, Sentry) are controlled by those providers and can change. For current details, see each provider’s own privacy and cookie documentation, linked in Section 6.
5. Your choices
You are in control of non-essential cookies, and you have several ways to exercise that control.
Our consent controls
When you first visit TALD, and any time afterward, you can choose to accept all cookies or reject non-essential ones. Choosing “Reject” or turning analytics off disables the analytics and advertising services shown in the table above. Strictly necessary and functional cookies remain active so the site keeps working.
Your browser
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of TALD — such as signing in or checking out — from working. Guidance for common browsers:
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
TALD recognizes the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Where required by law, we treat a GPC signal from your browser as a request to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and to turn off non-essential analytics and advertising cookies. Because there is no common industry standard for “Do Not Track” browser signals, we respond to GPC rather than to Do Not Track.

6. Third-party providers
Some cookies are set by trusted third parties that provide services on TALD. These providers process data under their own privacy policies:

7. Your regional rights
Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights over cookies and the personal information they involve.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland
If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR and UK GDPR:
- Consent — for analytics and advertising cookies. We set these only after you agree, and you may withdraw consent at any time through our consent controls, with no effect on the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
- Legitimate interests / necessity — for strictly necessary and functional cookies that keep the service secure, reliable, and operational. Strictly necessary cookies are exempt from the consent requirement under the ePrivacy rules.
You also have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 10. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Some of our providers are based in the United States, so using TALD may involve transferring personal data outside your country. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
California
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access and delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising.
TALD does not sell personal information for money. However, the use of analytics and advertising cookies — such as Meta pixels and Google Analytics — may be considered “sharing” or a “sale” under California law. You can opt out by rejecting non-essential cookies in our consent controls or by sending a Global Privacy Control signal, which we honor as a valid opt-out. We do not knowingly “sell” or “share” the personal information of anyone under 16.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights.
Other U.S. states
If you live in a state with a comprehensive privacy law — such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, or Montana, among others — you may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of targeted advertising and certain profiling. You can exercise these rights through our consent controls, an opt-out preference signal such as GPC, or the contact details in Section 10.
Everywhere else
Wherever you are, you can manage or refuse non-essential cookies using the controls in Section 5. We aim to give every visitor the same clear, meaningful control over cookies, regardless of location.
8. Retention
How long a cookie stays on your device depends on its type. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them; typical lifespans range from the length of your session to about two years. The precise lifespan of each third-party cookie is set by the relevant provider and may change. You can delete stored cookies at any time through your browser settings.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the technologies we use, our practices, or the law. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the site. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
