Forward Fruit is a full-service design firm based in Chicago, specializing in creating immersive and beautiful interiors for residential and boutique commercial clients. Forward Fruit’s work is known for its soulful, textural quality and an inviting mix of whimsy and classic elements. Elise and her team also design a line of painterly wallpapers, adding expressive, artful touches to their projects. Elise brings a sense of rich nostalgia and narrative vision to her work, while centering the needs of daily life. Her projects are at once elevated, whimsical, and personal, with a measured coziness that prioritizes living. A native Bostonian, Elise’s aesthetic is influenced by historic New England architecture, with doses of bicoastal classics and modern design elements. A classically trained interior designer with a background in the decorative arts, Elise grounds each space with vintage, handmade, and heirloom pieces, pairing them thoughtfully with color and pattern. She believes in using eco-friendly materials, supporting small businesses, and incorporating artisan-made objects to add depth and timelessness to every design. Elise oversees each project from her Chicago studio with a collaborative approach, ensuring spaces are personalized and that clients feel connected to their environment. She holds a BFA in Interior Design and Architectural Studies from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a Master’s in Design Strategy from the Institute of Design at Illinois Institute of Technology.

Absolutely. Whether you're seeking fast-acting advice or diving into a full transformation, our community of designers is flexible when it comes to project size and scope. No question is too small, and no vision is too grand.
How can I prep for my consultation call?
Gather your design ideas and all forms of inspiration (think: sketches, photos, color swatches and images from your chosen designer’s portfolio). The more prepared you are for your consultation, the more personalized and productive your consultation call will be. You are welcome to have family members and architects present to optimize your time.
How long are the consultation calls?
You have two options — 30 minutes and 60 minutes. The half-hour call is great for quick questions and decision making, like choosing paint colors or reviewing some of your selections before pulling the trigger. You're in control. Submit a full-service inquiry for a traditional interior design experience where you have a professional taking a hands-on approach from start to finish.
