Kate Ferguson is the founder and principal designer of Palomino Interiors, a full-service interior design firm based in New Canaan, CT, with projects across New England, Florida, and Texas. Kate’s journey into interior design began after a decade in advertising and photoshoot production for global brands like Pepsico, Starbucks, and Reebok. Seeking more creative freedom and flexibility, she turned her passion for collecting and selling antiques into a thriving design business, launching Palomino Interiors in 2014. With a degree in anthropology from Tulane University, Kate brings a thoughtful and layered approach to her work. She skillfully blends vintage furnishings, custom pieces, and one-of-a-kind objects to create timeless interiors that reflect her clients’ traditions, values, and lifestyles. As a mother of four and an active member of the New Canaan community, Kate deeply understands the importance of designing homes that feel personal and connected. Absolutely. Whether you're seeking fast-acting advice or diving into a full transformation, our community of designers is flexible when it comes to project size and scope. No question is too small, and no vision is too grand.
How can I prep for my consultation call?
Gather your design ideas and all forms of inspiration (think: sketches, photos, color swatches and images from your chosen designer’s portfolio). The more prepared you are for your consultation, the more personalized and productive your consultation call will be. You are welcome to have family members and architects present to optimize your time.
How long are the consultation calls?
You have two options — 30 minutes and 60 minutes. The half-hour call is great for quick questions and decision making, like choosing paint colors or reviewing some of your selections before pulling the trigger. You're in control. Submit a full-service inquiry for a traditional interior design experience where you have a professional taking a hands-on approach from start to finish.
