Alkemis is The World's First Wellness Paint—bringing nature and design together to create healthier, more intentional interior spaces. Fundamentally different from petrochemical-based conventional paints, Alkemis is formulated on a foundation of sustainable raw materials, earthen pigments, and clear quartz, creating a best-in-class interior paint that supports a holistic lifestyle. Why does it matter? Paint is one of the most overlooked polluters in our daily environment. It is the largest source of microplastics in the ocean, and conventional paints fill our homes and bodies with toxic VOCs, PFAs/"forever chemicals", endocrine disruptors, carcinogens, phthalates, and biocides—chemicals linked to serious health risks. The architectural coatings industry is in urgent need of a health-forward course correction, and Alkemis is leading it. Women-owned, manufactured in the USA with 100% emission-free production, and built on rigorous certifications that no conventional paint brand can match. We currently offer velvet matte interior mineral paint and primer (suitable for residential and commercial applications) and will be launching a plant-based paint for cabinetry, doors, trim, furniture and walls in early 2027 (which will be available in multiple sheens). The interior mineral paint can be applied with a brush, roller or airless spray in a uniform finish or a velvety suede effect (using a block brush similar to limewash). Additionally, it can be troweled and polished by experienced decorative painters in lieu of plaster. All of our products are handcrafted to our exacting color standards, bespoke/made to order (never mass-produced), and are exclusively available on our website.
