Sara Cukerbaum is the founder and principal designer of SLIC Design, an Austin-based studio known for its minimal, high-impact interiors. At the core of her work is an intentional resistance to excess. Rather than fill space, Sara uses absence as a tool—vacancy becomes object, restraint becomes focus. Her spaces are precise, where texture and form guide attention and the resident becomes central to the experience of the room. With a background that spans New York, Chicago, and Dallas, Sara brings a studied and global perspective to each project. After earning her degree from NYU and completing interior design studies at the Harrington Institute of Design, she launched SLIC Design in 2012. The firm has been featured in Architectural Digest, Design Milk, Vogue, The Wall Street Journal, and more. Today, Sara leads a team of designers and project managers who share her commitment to challenging convention while crafting interiors that are deeply considered and quietly bold.
